Today is the first day of a dream of mine and you play a significant role in it. Yes, you! From each day forward the dream unfolds through words shared on these pages. Each day brings a new brilliant and beautiful landscape of God’s fulfilled promises as His word is birthed into our hearts and lives. This is the first day of my dream fulfilled and yours.
Here is a little back story; I have been a Jesus girl for 30 years. I wasn’t raised in a Christian home and didn’t have godly influences in my life. I spent the first half of my life clawing my way through all the yuck in my heart and trying to right all the wrongs I had done. My ‘come to Jesus’ moment was on the floor of my den at 5 am with the help of a TV evangelist. Though the clawing stopped, the kicking and screaming began. Jesus took a confused, broken, and hurting girl and started the process of transforming her into the woman God created her to be. Yes, it is a process. Some days have been great. Like finding your favorite jeans 50% off great and realizing they fit looser than the last pair. Or having lunch with your best friend and laughing so hard you almost …. well, you know. And some have been painfully hard, gut wrenching, not wanting to look at myself in the mirror hard, sloppy and messy tears hard. You know, that soul surgery that only Jesus can do. But with each day I advance closer to living the life God created for me and growing into the woman God created me to be.
That word significant is long and kind of clumsy to say, isn’t it? Yet, so is the process of discovering how significant we are to God, His Kingdom, and the world around us. We might fumble and fall at times but Jesus is there to pick us up, heal our wounds, lovingly teach us, and lead us in the Way.
To be significant means you are noteworthy, important, vital, memorable, impressive, and extraordinary. You are God’s one of a kind masterpiece, unique in every detail that none can compare to you. God delights in you. Zephania 3:17, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Maybe you don’t feel significant because life has been one let down after another for you. I get it dear one. I want to assure you that God does not define you by what you have done or what others have done to you. Maybe you know in your head that God has a plan for you, that you have a calling, and that you are valuable to God, but you struggle to accept it in your heart. My friend, that used to be my comfort zone. And maybe you are a woman who has overcome much through God’s strength and wants to live out your calling and make a significant impact in this world for Him. I am right there with you Sis! We are all in this together – this thing called life.
Whether you are a newlywed, new mom, boss mom, step-mom, grandmother, empty nester, single, widowed, sister, daughter, aunt, or friend (hope I didn’t leave anyone out), you belong here. When we gather together in all of our diversity and uniqueness we paint a new glorious landscape of God’s plan and purpose for our individual lives and as a community of women – God’s daughters.
What this means for you is a discovery of just how significant you are to God and the world around you. What this also means is whether you are a woman who believes that Jesus is your Savior , curious as to what being a believer in Christ is all about, or not sure about anything for that matter, you belong here. God loves you no matter where you’re at.
Thanks for coming along with me on this amazing journey.
