Matthew 19:26 MSG, “Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.”
Jeremiah 32:17 NIV, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”
This morning, while putting dishes away, I heard the sweet tweet and buzz of a hummingbird at the feeder outside my kitchen window. Since the fires last year I have not seen many of our winged friends. Specifically, hummingbirds. We usually have at least 10 that make their way by our house as they fuel up for winter migration. Five years in a row of fires that devastated our Sierra forests made it seem impossible for our wildlife to return. To see that little guy was such a hug from God.
God loves His creation, you and me, and provides for us every moment of the day. Most often we don’t notice His provision because it may have become routine for us. Like the sun rising and setting, food on the table, electricity, our basic needs always being met. Yet, when we are facing what seems impossible to overcome, is when our faith and trust in God is challenged.
Our verses confirm that God is actively providing in the impossible. It may not be in our timeframe and look like we think it should because, let’s agree, we don’t often initiate God size vision and possibilities when we are facing what seems humanly impossible.
Nothing is too hard for God. All we have to do is look around us at His creation and the beautiful symphony all life plays as it is orchestrated by God. You have never tempted God’s resources until you have faced the impossible.
